Villa confirmed that it was indeed him in the videos and he was just 17 years old at the time. During that period, his mother passed away and his father left him, leaving him to raise his sister alone. He began his social media career and started “doing many things that maybe I shouldn’t have,” he admitted.

On Instagram, the online personality posted a lengthy empowering message alongside photos of himself receiving the scholarship.

“My past is not going to destroy my future,” he wrote. “I took these pictures to tell you that if I had been given my Spanish scholarship for the nursing career. With all that’s happening on social media, they took my scholarship away, but with or without a scholarship I’m going to study nursing.”

He continued: “My past is just past I was only 17 years old. I was a kid and I was forced to record those videos, I don’t regret anything. Thank you for loving me so much remember this: diamonds are formed under pressure, and seeds grow in the dark.”

Floods of encouraging messages have poured in on Villa’s platform, reassuring him to stay positive.

“It’s your life and with it, you do whatever you want… You don’t have to explain anything,” a fan commented.
